Elite Athletic Mind and Wellness has designed a program that provides athletes with the ability to identify, understand and resolve mental health challenges. Through group counseling sessions ranging from 8-10 athletes per meeting, each athlete will participate in theme-based activities that will maximize their ability to achieve their elite potential. Each athlete is destined for greatness and will leave the program with a better understanding of what is required to become an elite athlete and person. Our services are focused on personal development and mental wellness, not clinical mental health care .
Please reach us at eliteathleticmind@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The first phase of Elite Athletic Mind and Wellness has been designed for male athletes between the ages of 13 and 18+. Future programs will be designed for female athletes, younger/older athletes and parents/guardians of athletes.
Any athlete seeking mental wellness would be a great fit for this program.
The program has been designed to assist athletes with self esteem, confidence, mental wellness stigma and the building of social skills. A safe group setting can provide an environment where the athlete can feel more comfortable with learning, sharing and participating.
Absolutely. In fact, most of the programs are designed with a high performing team chemistry approach in mind.
Because individual counseling is private, personal and unique to the athlete, our team will refer athletes to outside agencies for individual counseling, as appropriate.
Remember, the group sessions are only an hour long. The program mandates that parents support the athlete outside of the group sessions. There are regular check-ins with the parents to ensure that athletes are engaged in and outside of the group sessions.
If you (as a parent) struggles to maintain composure at games, practices or with coaches, then know that you are impacting your athlete in a way that is unhealthy. If your athlete is 'shutting down' on the way home, or is disproportionately active with their digital media, then the synergy between athlete/parent is unhealthy. Our program is designed to address those issues.
If the athlete strives to lean how to work better with their coaches, referees, umpires, etc. and desire to develop skills that prepare them for work life situations with co-workers and supervisors, our program equips them with effective ways to successful in any environment.
Fixed scheduling is set up for each of the age groups. Each session requires a minimum of 8 athletes up to a maximum of 10 athletes. The topics are listed under the 'What we provide' section .
We recognize the developmental differences between teenage athletes by age. Therefore, the programs have been designed to be age appropriate . Currently, there are 3 age levels that have been established (more will be established in the future for middle school athletes and retired athletes).
